Thanksgiving and a couple of birthdays.

Happy 2012!  With that, let's back up and talk about Thanksgiving.  One of these days I'll catch up to the present!  D's first Thanksgiving was pretty low key.  We ordered out the turkey and most of the fixings and it was DELICIOUS.  This might start an anuual tradition! My mom was here in town for 2 weeks (miss you mom!!) and we loved every minute of it.  We even loved her special Thanksgiving recipe of exploding cornbread.  See picture below- these were baked in a muffin tin with 18 rolls (notice most and one half are missing- the lower one half of one was thankfully salvaged.. hehe).

Here are a few shots of my mom's visit.  Wish you could have stayed longer and hope we'll see you soon! (It's already January, how about coming back in Feb.???!)

Love that smile!  Only a nana can beam that big.

P and I also celebrated our 4th and 37th birthday shortly after Thanksgiving.  We share a birthday and I look forward to celebrating our special day together every year.  And one big perk of sharing your birthday with your kid-- no one even notices that you're a year older too :)  This year we had her first party with cousins, aunts, uncles & grandparents, and a second party with her 4 favorite friends from school  which was a first for her, but she was more excited about having a party for her friends to show of her little brother!  We kept both parties low key (can't get too crazy creative with a 3 week old in tow) but we still partied hard.  Can't believe my baby girl is 4!

And yes, if you happened to be counting cupcakes in those photos, I baked 36 this year. Which means I ate about 20 too many.

Coming next... Christmas post and visit from Grandpop and Grandma meski. xo!
